Soorarai Pottru Movie Review
Soorarai Pottru was one of the most awaited movie of this year from the tamil film industry and unfortunately due to the pandemic situation, the makers had to settle down for an OTT release. From the moment of the announcement of this movie to the release of it’s trailer, the movie kept up with all the expectations and finally when the product, the film came out, it turns out to be higher than we all expected. Soorarai Pottru is the story of a common man from a village, following his passion and dream to start up an airlines for the common people at a ticket price of Rs 1. The movie is directed by Sudha Kongara and it features Suriya, Aparna Balamurali, Urvasi, Paresh Rawal, Mohan Babu and Viveka Prasanna in the lead roles.
Sudha Kongara and her writing team came up with an extraordinary true story and a screenplay which the story demanded. Sudha was also successful in producing a world class movie watching experience with her top quality making standards. GV Prakash’s songs and intense score along with Niketh Bommireddy’s mind blowing frames took the movie to the next level while the cuts by Sathish Suriya was intact throughout.
When the technical side kept their standards high, it was completely a playground for the actor in Suriya to roam around and do a one man show. A different face of the actor was evident throughout, especially during the airport scene and the combination scene with Urvasi afterwards. Aparna and Urvasi were brilliant and scored above Suriya at places. Rest of the cast did their jobs neatly without fail.
Soorarai Pottru can be defined as one of the best movies in Suriya’s career and the best Tamil movie released so far this year. Kudos to the entire team for coming up with such a magnificent treat to the movie lovers. My heart is still aching that I missed the theatrical experience.
Must.. Must.. Must Watch.
